In order to facilitate the URMP preparation process, a working group was formed comprising of representatives from the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation and its associated line departments, Aurangabad Smart Cities Development Corporation, CII and industrial groups, universities and academic institutions, relevant state authorities and local NGOs working in the city. An inception meeting of the working group was conducted on 6th July 2022 at the Aurangabad Smart Cities Development Corporation. The meeting was chaired by the Hon’ble Municipal Commissioner of Aurangabad. During the inception meeting, the working group members were informed about the River Cities Alliance and introduced to the concept of urban river management. A brief of the URMP framework as well as glimpses of experiences from the preparation of URMP Kanpur were also presented. The members of the working group shared insights of the ongoing works related to river management in the city.
