To expand the River Cities Alliance and bring more river cities from across the Ganga and Non-Ganga basin under the umbrella of RCA. The RCA was formalized on 25 November 2021, and 30 river cities were onboarded. To onboard additional river cities under the alliance, in consultation with NMCG it was decided to include additional river cities from Bihar and from other river basins to expand the RCA footprint. To onboard the river cities under the RCA and brief them on the river-sensitive urban planning agenda it was decided to conduct onboarding meeting. To this effect, during the quarter the onboarding meetings were conducted for Uttar Pradesh at Patna on 20th December 2022.
