A webinar was organized on “restoring and rejuvenation of urban water bodies” on 20th December 2022 for the RCA cities officials to delve into challenges in managing urban water bodies and how nature-based solutions can help improve the overall ecosystem of urban water bodies. The talk was delivered by Mr. Anand Malligavad, the mechanical engineer-turned-lake conservationist working with various state governments for strategizing and rejuvenating these valuable ecosystems within the city landscape. He has so far rejuvenated more than 20 lakes and is aiming to rejuvenate around 45 lakes by the end of 2025. Around 40 participants joined the webinar. Mr Anand Malligavad shared his experience of rejuvenating lakes and ponds in Bangalore city, he also elaborated on the process that he is following for the rejuvenation of these water bodies.
