The River Cities Alliance (RCA) governance structure is designed to ensure effective coordination and expert guidance in managing river basins across India. The Governing Council, comprising senior officials and sector experts, oversees the RCA, with contributions from various basin alliances such as the Ganga and Brahmaputra. The RCA Secretariat, supported by a Technical Expert Group, operates under the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) with a multidisciplinary team of 8-10 members. This structure facilitates strategic leadership, technical support, and efficient communication to address the challenges of river city management across multiple states.
